Nobel Laureate joins Current Alzheimer Research’s Editorial Board

Bussum, Netherlands, 24 March, 2010: Prof. Ferid Murad, Nobel Laureate from University of Texas Medical School, USA, joins the editorial board of Current Alzheimer Research (www.bentham.org/car). This was proudly announced by Prof. Debomoy Lahiri, the Editor in Chief of the journal. Announcing this Dr. Lahiri said, “Indeed, we will all benefit from Prof. Murad’s advice and guidance, and his contributions would be a significant boost to the journal”.

Dr. Ferid Murad was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 1998 for his ground breaking discovery of nitric oxide signaling. His current work on guanylyl cyclase-cyclic GMP signaling and the role of nitric oxide as an extracellular and intracellular messenger in the early evolution of life are truly fascinating. Such research has immense significance and implication in aging and AD research.

According to Dr. Lahiri, many other distinguished researchers working on Alzheimer disease have also agreed to join hands with him to work on the journal. He added, “I am confident that with their acknowledged expertise in the field, and active participation, the journal will continue to be a success and a leading publication in the AD field”.
